Question: Is it possible to add a GP Reminder for PAM related SmartList? (Microsoft Dynamics GP menu >> Reminders)
Answer: Yes, and here is how:
From the Dynamics GP SmartList Window (Microsoft Dynamics GP>SmartList), create your SmartList favorite:
- Click Folder (in my example I’ll use a PAM Timesheet SmartList)
- Click on the asterisk
- Click on “Favorites”
- Enter a SmartList name (i.e. Find Missing GL Acct )
- Add to Favorites and Reminder
The SmartList reminders can be added for the PAM SmartLists, but in doing so you will need to add a “Search” criteria.
Based on the number of results the criteria returns, the reminder will either appear or it may not and that is control in the Custom Reminder window. In the example below, the SmartList will appear in the reminder window if the number of records is equal to 0. If the number of records is not equal to 0 then my SmartList reminder would not appear.
On the Dynamics GP “home page”, under the To Do section, click on the “change details” pencil icon.
Expand the Reminder Preferences window:
Here is where you can see your newly added SmartList under the Customer Reminder list.
You can modify the “remind me when” criteria or remove the SmartList from the reminders list.
The next time your Dynamics GP reminders pop up, you should see the SmartList in your reminders if the search criteria returns results.
SmartLists are an easy and efficient way to set up Reminders within Microsoft Dynamics GP.
