Back in the day, ‘Executive Information System’ was a commonly used term. Over time this term has evolved into ‘Dashboards’. ‘Staffing Software Implementation’ dashboards tend to come up far short of ‘Staffing Software Demo’ dashboards. As with any software system they tend to be hard wired and built for a specific purpose. If you want something that fits your specific needs and you cannot get someone to sign the check for the vendor’s time you have to make do with what you have.
Enter 1Staff and Microsoft CRM 2011…
If you think this is good wait until you see workflow. (If you don’t, I hope my major in VCR repair can get the kids through college).
Each component of a dashboard can be different:
– A list of data – Which appears on the bottom of the dashboard using the simple, yet powerful, ‘Advanced Find’ feature. Anybody can be their own report writer.
– An IFrame – Can be used to display any website content you want (for example, your corporate LinkedIn page).
– A Web Resource – I won’t even attempt to explain what you can do with a ‘Web Resource’ in this blog. If you can come up with an idea you can probably do it in a Web Resource.
